Mars Consultancy started in 2015 with three partners and one office in Thane. Today it is two Mumbai offices, more than fifty recruiters and thirteen sectors, hiring across India and the UAE.
Our story
Mars Consultancy is a talent acquisition partner founded in 2015 in Thane, working with start-ups, SMEs, mid-sized organisations and established enterprises across India and the UAE. Three partners started it, each already a decade into finance, IT and recruitment, and all three still run it.
What the business does has not really changed since then. A company needs someone, and the market it needs them from is bigger and noisier than any internal team can search properly. We know that market because we sit inside it, in the same suburbs the candidates commute from.
What did change is reach. One office became three, one shared pool of recruiters became sector desks, and the work now runs from entry-level volume drives through to confidential leadership searches. The rest of this page is that decade, and the people in it.
Every figure here is the client's own. We do not publish numbers we cannot stand behind.
Slowly, and in the direction the work went. Each office opened because the roles we were filling had moved into that belt, not because a map looked incomplete.
Mars Consultancy opens in Thane West, founded by three partners with backgrounds in finance, IT and recruitment. The catchment is the Thane belt and the roles are whatever the first clients need filled.
A second office in Airoli puts recruiters inside the Navi Mumbai corridor. For most roles below management, travel time is what decides whether an offer is accepted, so being on the right side of the creek changes which candidates say yes. The office has since closed; Navi Mumbai is now covered from Thane.
Malad West completes the map. Three offices then covered the Thane, Navi Mumbai and western-suburb belts, which is the whole of the Mumbai hiring market that a candidate will realistically commute within.

We recruit in the market we sit in. Which suburbs a role can realistically draw from, what a band pays in Thane against Andheri, which employers people leave and why. That is the knowledge a search runs on.
Requirement briefing, talent mapping, multi-channel sourcing, structured screening, interview coordination, then offer and joining support. The same sequence on a single mandate and on a 200-seat drive.
You work with the person who read your requirement, not with whoever is free that week. Consistent candidate coordination is most of what separates a shortlist that converts from one that stalls.
Entry-level volume drives and specialised leadership mandates run out of the same two offices, with flexible engagement models behind both. Most agencies do one of those two well.

More than fifty people across Thane and Malad. Sourcing specialists, screeners, coordinators who live in the scheduling and the follow-ups, and the recruiters who own the client relationship.
A recruitment firm is only ever as good as the people making the calls, which is a slightly awkward thing to say in an industry that talks about databases. The database is table stakes. Whether someone picks up the phone at seven in the evening to keep a candidate warm through a counter-offer is the actual job.

Mars Consultancy was founded in 2015 in Thane by three partners: Altamash Qureshi, Shamran Shaikh and Rameez Khan. Each brings over ten years of experience, in finance, IT and recruitment respectively, and all three remain in the business today.
Two offices across the Mumbai region: Thane West since 2015 and Malad West since 2024. A third office in Airoli ran from 2022 and has since closed. Between them the two cover the Thane, Navi Mumbai and western-suburb hiring belts.
